An Afternoon In Brooklyn

Great shopping at Bird in Williamsburg!
On a recent trip back from visiting friends in New Jersey, my husband and I made a long desired pit stop in two of my favorite neighborhoods to shop and eat in Brooklyn- Williamsburg and Carroll Gardens.  My first stop in Williamsburg was in the Brook Farm General Store, where I scored the perfect ravioli cutter! It's a little bit off the beaten path, but worth the jaunt! Some of my other favorite shops for clothing and accessories were Bird , Joinery, and if you have your fella with you, be sure to stop in Hickoree's Hard Goods, where you'll meet Emil, the owner and designer of the Hillside Tie.

Next stop was Carroll Gardens, and to visit one of my favorites boutiques, Lucia. A couple other great shops were Neda and Flirt, for some great vintage finds.  We ended our adventures with a  delicious dinner at Fragole on Court Street. One of the best pappardelle bolognese I've ever tasted!

Thank you Brooklyn for a wonderful Sunday afternoon...we'll be back soon!

The Tuxedo Jacket

by Tibi
by Gant

Ladies and Gents...tuxedo jackets are all the rage! I've always coveted one of my own, and with Spring just around the corner, I see a creamy white one hanging in my closet very soon!

Right in line with the blazer trend, the tuxedo jacket can show your unique sense of style, but with some added sophistication and glamour. It's a great look paired with your favorite jean for a night out. Or keep it dressy with a sleek pair of pants or throw over your best LBD.  Keep in mind, the old tux you got back in the 90's may not be the slim fit you need to achieve this current look! Bring it to your favorite tailor or Image Consultant for a bit of advice!

In addition to the above designers, check out styles now being sold at H&M, White House Black Market or look for some rare finds on ebay. Contact me for any help!

The Best Hairstyle For Your Face Shape

Spring is in the air! The temptation to call up your hairstylist and do something drastically different lingers in your thoughts! But before you make that call, be sure that you have done your homework and spent some time looking up not only the latest trends, but staring at yourself in the mirror. Do you know your face shape?

If not, you may not have the best hairstyle to frame your face and accent the right areas! As I learned throughout my studies in Image Consulting, face and body shape analysis are critical to creating the right image and look for my clients. Your face shape not only dictates certain hairstyles, but also what type of collar or neckline is most flattering, where your focal point should be for a necklace, and what shape of earring you should wear.  Next time you meet with your hairdresser, be sure to consult with him or her on the best style for your face shape. You can also book an appointment with me to conduct a face and body analysis and review some great tools and tips for achieving your best looks.

Check out this great article on Allure.com for more examples of the best hairstyles for your face shape.
